Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs)
At School Psyched Assessment, we specialize in conducting Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) for families who seek a second opinion regarding their child’s special education needs. An IEE is an evaluation conducted by a qualified professional who is not employed by the public school district. Parents have the right to request an IEE at public expense if they disagree with a district-conducted evaluation.
IEEs can provide:
– A fresh, objective perspective on your child’s strengths and needs
– Clarification or refinement of diagnoses (e.g., ADHD, autism, learning disabilities)
– Comprehensive reports that meet IDEA eligibility and assessment criteria
– Actionable recommendations for school-based supports, services, and placements
Our assessments are legally defensible, student-centered, and conducted in accordance with both federal law (IDEA) and California Education Code. We use a collaborative, transparent process that includes interviews, record review, observation, and standardized testing.
At the conclusion of the evaluation, we provide:
– A detailed written report
– Participation in IEP team meetings (if requested)
– Clear communication with families and schools
If you are considering an Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE) or have received a denial or approval from your school district, we are happy to consult with you to explain your rights, our process, and next steps.
